Background....

Thistle Piping was set up in 1999 and now provides pipers to play at special events all over the world.

Allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Julie Brinklow and I started playing the pipes at the age of 11 in 1984.  Enjoying Competitions with a small local

band and going on to obtain numerous awards for outstanding performance in music, together with a Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Certificate.

In 1992 I became the Pipe Major of Stonehaven Pipes Band and led them to success and promotion through the World Champion of Champions for their class.

Following my decision to set up Thistle Piping in 1999, I moved to the Grampian Police Pipe Band where I enjoy a higher level of musicianship.

The company is based in Ellon (approximately 13 miles north of Aberdeen).  The town of Ellon evolved around the river Ythan, originally providing a crossing

point for travelers, and has continued to offer a friendly welcome ever since.  The charm and spirit of the town provides an appropriate backdrop for the

services Thistle Piping is able to offer, combining tradition with supreme quality piping performance and tuition.

The success of Thistle Piping is dependant on the quality of the pipers.  For this reason I will only despatch the most appropriate and competent piper to

make you event a memorable occasion.  With a resource of pipers fully assessed and professionally dressed, Thistle Piping really can offer more than just

pipers - we offer a true piping service.

Whatever your event, discuss your ideas with me at Thistle Piping.
