About

Based in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, Thistle Piping was established in 1999 by founder and Proprietor Julie Brinklow.

Julie recognised a demand in the local area for a professional piping service, both for tuition and for piper hire, when she was repeatedly asked to tutor beginners and perform at events.

Today Thistle Piping is a well established service to the local wedding industry, in schools and universities, private pupils, hotels, local business, distilleries and much more. In partnership with 3 of Aberdeen’s finest pipers, together the team of 4 works diligently to provide a truly professional service that keeps clients coming back to us time and time again.

The success of Thistle Piping is dependant on the quality of instruction at lessons and the quality of piping provided at events. For this reason Thistle Piping’s attire, standard and professionalism is of the utmost quality to make your event an even more memorable occasion. With a resource of hundreds of tunes, various types of pipes, choices of uniform, tartans and a professional manner, Thistle Piping really can offer more than just a piper – we are a true piping service.

Our company motto is “Fervidus – Professio – Institutio” which means “Passionate – Professional – Traditional”.
