Pipe Major Julie Brinklow had the prestigious duty of piping for the arrival of Camilla, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, on 16th January 2019 at the University of Aberdeen. Piping for the Royal arrival and then leading the procession into Elphinstone Hall where Professor George Boyne was installed as new Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University. There was a grand ceremony and music from Professor Paul Mealor‘s choir, “Caledonia” performed by Robert Love and also music from Aberdeen born Fiona Kennedy on this fine occasion. At the end of the ceremony Julie the Piper entered centre stage to lead Camilla and the entire procession from Elphinstone Hall to bring the ceremony to a close.
“A most enjoyable occasion and I’m very proud to be part of this fine team of musical professionals. The planning and preparation around such a high profile public event definitely requires focus and dedication.” (PM J.Brinklow)
